What causes recurrent pregnancy loss?

Some reasons for recurrent miscarriage include:

  • Structural anomalies of the uterus (womb)
  • Genetic problems
  • Immunological problems
  • Coagulation problems
  • Hormonal problems
  • Infections
  • Lifestyle factors

Unexplained recurrent miscarriage accounts for about 50% of recurrent pregnancy losses and is diagnosed when all detailed investigations are normal.
